Every rose begins in the flower fields of the Netherlands, where generations of growers have coaxed colour and shape from the soil long before a single bloom ever reaches a box. Each one is hand-selected at the exact moment it is most itself, then gently released from the need to wilt, as glycerin is drawn slowly through each petal until it forgets how to fade. The box itself, black velvet and gold-lettered, is assembled by hand in Vienna, as though it were the only one being made that day.
